New website goes live!
It started as a weekend overhaul of my personal website (and I did manage to get the site to that magical "90% complete" stage in that time), but then it ran into resourcing issues which were compounded by a client who just couldn't sign off on any stage of the project without demanding changes and suddenly the project timeline was sailing past without any project milestones being met.
Thankfully the client was convinced that it would be a good idea to release the site in phases, and so you have "Phase 1 - it works for my girlfriend and me (Safari 2 and Firefox 1.5)".
Phase 2 is to review the HTML output and ensure it's optimised for my needs (this is my day job, so I'm pretty picky and this is going to take a while). Phase 3 is to ensure that the site is accessible to some older / outdated browsers. This will include hiding the stylesheet from any current form of Internet Explorer to stop it attempting to read stuff that it has no hopes of displaying in any sane form (the client in this case couldn't afford the backwards compatibility work and compromises necessary to get this site displaying in that browser).
After all that will probably come phase 4 - I'm bored with this design cause my design skills suck, it's time to overhaul my site.
